Thousands of Microsoft users converged on San Antonio, Texas last week for the Community Summit North America conference. Among those taking in sessions, absorbing new information and networking at Summit 2024 were three Boyer team members.
Here’s their impression of key takeaways from this year’s user group conference:
Caleb Funderburk, Delivery Resource Manager
“At Community Summit 2024, we explored several key areas that are shaping the future of our industry. A top priority was the importance of data governance and practices. Data governance is crucial for ensuring the integrity, security, and usability of data within the Microsoft Business Applications we implement. This focus will significantly enhance our customers’ efforts to utilize Microsoft Copilot and Fabric effectively.
We had the opportunity to dive into Fabric integrations with Dataverse and Business Central, which is particularly important for us as Boyer uses Dynamics 365 Business Central, CRM, and Project Operations for our internal operations. Fabric ensures real-time synchronization of data across these platforms, providing a seamless and efficient data management experience.
Additionally, we were excited to see the latest features of Copilot and Copilot agents. These agents leverage generative AI to assist with complex cognitive tasks, enhancing productivity and decision-making. A highlight of the week was walking through the steps of building our own Copilot agent with Microsoft’s Dewain Robinson, showcasing the practical applications and benefits of this technology.”
Patrick Coale, Power Platform/CRM Consultant
“At the Summit, the spotlight was on AI, data governance, and how people are using these tools to excel their organizations. There was this cool comparison made about AI being just at the beginning, like the “top of the first inning,” but it’s already showing some amazing perks. However, there’s a catch — The AI we use is only as top-notch as the data we feed it. Now, having clean data isn’t just nice to have; it’s absolutely crucial if anyone is wanting to move forward with AI. Bad data equals bad insights, which means cleaning up your data is super important right now. It’s time for organizations to get their data in shape for AI!”
Bradley Roberts, ERP Team Lead
“Microsoft is totally committed to enhancing all of their Dynamics 365 products with AI infused copilot tools/utilities. Both Boyer and our clients should be working to keep up with these innovations/enhancements.”
This is just the highlights of what our team experienced at this year’s Summit 2024 conference. Look for future blogs to dive into these topics more.
