If you are a Dynamics GP Version 10 or Version 2010 user, you may think this post is going to be mostly about the 150 new features that are part of Dynamics GP 2013. …but “What’s New in GP 2013?” has already been covered by a few good bloggers.
This post is about the slew of additional value that Microsoft is providing to its user base simply for paying your annual enhancement plan and transitioning to GP 2013.
The first thought that comes to my mind is that unlimited payroll users are free. We had a client 3 years ago pay over $40,000 for payroll and HR. Now most of the costs to making this transition are in paying us to setup their payroll. Here in Minnesota more than in other places I’ve lived (Illinois, Pennsylvania) people avoid doing their own payroll and sub it out to services such as ADP and Payroll. Most do this because it’s convenient, they don’t have to worry about filing taxes, and the justify it doesn’t cost that much. …but now GP 2013 users will need to reconsider.
While ADP for example certainly offers more and better features than GP, our client from 3 years ago saves over $100,000 per year. This client had over 2,000 employees. Add on top of that no cost for payroll-just implementation services…and most would agree that they need to reconsider even if the thought of bringing payroll in house is not a favorite idea.
…so on to the useful facts.
Clients that currently own modular based Dynamics GP (Standard or Professional) and transition to GP2013 will receive additional modules that they would not need to purchase.
