The Boyer team has a new face ready to assist with project management for Microsoft Dynamics. We’re pleased to announce Luisa Hill as our newest senior project manager.
Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in history and archaeology at a small town university in Wales. She participated in several archaeology digs and on the weekends often went climbing on the nearby Snowdonia Mountain Range.
Upon returning home, Hill landed her first job at a New York City nonprofit as an associate project manager. While she was there, the organization went from pen and paper to a full-scale CRM, a move that greatly impacted the organization’s productivity and donations — and Hill.
“I’m very driven by being able to make an impact on people. Seeing what technology can do when leveraged the right way is super fascinating to me,” she said.
Hill went on to earn her master’s degree in information systems. She has spent the last eight years as a project manager. While she enjoys the nitty gritty details like project plans, it’s the focus on people that she likes best.
“I love being in the partner space because I get to leverage my knowledge and my experience to help the client get the best outcome. We spend so much time at work and it’s really impactful to help roll out a tool that’s going to impact their business and their time at work,” she said.
Hill’s first project centered around a Salesforce implementation. When she got her first experience with a Microsoft Dynamics implementation in 2018, she was hooked.
“I’m a Microsoft girl through and through. I much prefer the Microsoft stack,” she said. She’s focused on helping customers implement Microsoft solutions ever since.
Hill heard about the open position at Boyer through a former coworker. The company culture and the opportunity to help build out Boyer’s growing PMO team drew Hill to the position in project management for Microsoft Dynamics.
Always looking for that people focus, Hill said she’s most looking forward to connecting with hew new team members and clients. She also looks forward to helping Boyer build its fledging practice around Microsoft’s enterprise ERP solution, Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
On a personal note, Hill lives in central New Jersey with her French Bulldog, Rosie. She described her 7-year-old fur baby as both an “absolute angel and also a gremlin.” Her parents and two younger brothers live nearby and help with Rosie’s care whenever she needs to travel.
Hill spends much of her spare time in the gym. In fact, she recently retired after seven years as a competitive body builder, a hobby that she said was more like a second full-time job.
Hill said body building taught her a lot about discipline. She spent hours in the gym and lived on chicken, rice and green beans, either bulking up or forcing herself to go hungry depending on the day.
“You realize you can do pretty much anything,” she said, adding that the experience helped her build good mental habits.
Now she spends more time doing pilates and yoga to maintain her fitness level. Relaxation time at home usually consists of either watching a scary movie or listening to techno music.
