It’s that time once again. Like the seasons change, Microsoft Dynamics GP is ramping up for the new year by rolling out some new features in GP 2018 version 18.5 as well as updates for year-end 2022.
Let’s start with the new version of Dynamics GP 2018 – 18.5, released in October:

And now let’s look at the year-end update for 2022, released in November. The most notable changes are in the 1099 forms, as usual:
- Year field changes — If you don’t install the update, you probably could get by with going into the report writer report and “keying” in the year if you’re going to print the forms from Dynamics GP. For the Payables 1099-MISC there are more changes:
- 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-R and 1096 Summary
- Add the year to dynamically print on the form (IRS removed this availability from the pre-printed form)
- 1099-MISC – Account number has moved down a box, FACTA filing has moved over, and 2nd TIN has moved down a box.
- Fixed Assets – Luxury auto depreciation changes
- There are no Payroll W2 or EFW2 changes
Please note that if you print Payables forms in Dynamics GP, we recommend you install the update.
