Boyer & Associates, a Minneapolis-based ERP solutions company announced the official “Go-Live” for Geronimo Wind Energy’s Microsoft Dynamics SL implementation.
Founded in 2004 with roots in agriculture and investing, Geronimo Wind Energy (GWE) is a utility-scale wind energy developer based in Edina, Minnesota, with offices across the Midwest. Geronimo’s goal is to bring the benefits of renewable energy to rural communities throughout the Midwest by developing wind farms that are farmer friendly, community driven and good for the environment.

GWE had unique requirements, in terms of financial reporting and project-based recording but many of the needs were common to what Boyer & Associates sees in project-driven organizations across industries.
“Even though GWE requires strong financials by project, we can tell by their rate of current growth, they will soon need better tools to help them manage projects proactively, ensure their staff is well-utilized and offer unique billing options to each large and sometimes demanding client,” said Jack Boyer, president of Boyer & Associates.

Ringblom stated back in August that, “Geronimo needs a more efficient way to track projects without having to resort to external tools such as spreadsheets that often require re-keying and reconciling to the accounting system.”
Now, after the Dynamics SL implementation, GWE has the ability to import Excel-based expense reports from employees so that the expenses do not need to be keyed again into accounts payable yet be able to hit the right projects consistently.
Another immediate benefit, since moving away from QuickBooks and onto Dynamics SL, is that Geronimo Wind Energy has the ability to run financial statements, even modified cash basis, by project.
