Boyer continues to grow with yet another Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant. Please join us in welcoming Christine Kurowski to our Microsoft ERP consulting team.
Kurowski joins Boyer with 8 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central. However, she started her career as an accountant, thanks to a diehard love for Excel.
“I love excel. That’s where I was in the accounting world,” she said. After getting her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University, she spent about a year and a half as an accountant.
Eventually, she grew bored with performing the same tasks month after month, so she switched to Microsoft ERP consulting in 2015.
As an accountant, she was used to looking back at what had already happened. Consulting, on the other hand, let her take a look forward and give clients the ability to make decisions based on what they saw coming.
“You’re always problem solving for something different so I like the variety that comes with consulting,” she said.
Kurowski spent the first six months on the job watching educational videos to get a better feel for the Microsoft tech stack, specifically Dynamics NAV and Power BI.
“What really lit my fire was Power BI. Right around the same time that I started consulting with NAV I also started figuring out how to use Power BI with NAV,” she said. “I really fell in love with the whole (ability to) take your data and make it into actionable insights.”
Kurowski’s background is largely within the food industry. She’s skilled at helping clients set up their Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central system and putting in place lot tracking capabilities in case of a recall.
Traveling to customer sites and seeing firsthand how they operate is one of her favorite parts of consulting. At one point she got to tour the Pearson’s Candy Company in Minneapolis and watch the candy-making process in the factory.
As for the Microsoft tech stack, Kurowski touted the seamless upgrade experience and clients’ ability to stay current on Microsoft’s cloud ERP solution.
“Once they get current there’s just so much continuous improvement from Microsoft, and they get to experience that in real time,” she said. “That’s a lot of value for customers.”
Kurowski heard about Boyer through a former coworker, Rob Grubbs. The idea of working with a friend intrigued her, and Boyer’s tagline to Empower Your Data especially resonated with her.
“I felt like I could relate. I want to help customers empower their data,” she said.
As a Microsoft ERP consultant, Kurowski has already started working on a couple new projects. She will also be devoting part of her time to Boyer’s Managed Services clients, an aspect that especially excites her.
“It feels like a little bit more organized way to give the continuous support and growth after go live,” she said. “We don’t disappear after go live. There’s continued support and it’s not just break/fix support. We want to help them reach their bigger goals beyond converting systems.”
Kurowski and her husband, Alex, live in South Bend, Indiana with their two dogs and two cats. When she’s not working Kurowski enjoys roller skating, yoga, word games and video games such as the new Hogwarts Legacy game for Playstation.
“We don’t disappear after go live. There’s continued support and it’s not just break/fix support. We want to help (clients) reach their bigger goals beyond converting systems.”
