Will Haber joins as senior Business Central consultant
Boyer & Associates is pleased to announce that our Business Central consulting team is growing. Will Haber recently joined the Minneapolis-based company as a senior consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
As a child, Haber had a propensity for math and science, and he loved space. NASA posters covered his bedroom walls, and he had a celebrity crush on astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“I saw the beauty in numbers and science … and how it can be used in different innovations in our world,” Haber said.
He majored in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida. Two internships gave him early work experience in warehousing and inventory. Haber got a job in 2016 as a consultant for Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
“I didn’t know what ERP was … It was very interesting to dive into that world,” he said.
One of his first projects consisted of creating a dashboard view for inventory users. He quickly discovered he liked the practical aspect of consulting for financial management software.
Haber enjoyed being able to solve real-world problems with business applications. He said he likes “designing things that are more practical for everyday problems.”
Throughout his career, he has dabbled in development tasks as well. However, he prefers the personal interaction that he gets as part of a Business Central consulting team.
“That really drew me toward consulting … I always wanted to talk to clients,” he said. “I go out of my way to help the client think through their processes.”
Whether he’s helping a client improve their sales process or come up with a more optimized inventory process, Haber enjoys being able to help clients work more efficiently.
Haber knows multiple versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the on-premise predecessor to Dynamics 365 Business Central. The functionality Microsoft has added to the cloud ERP over the last couple of years impresses him. Integrations with the rest of the Microsoft stack in particular make Business Central an appealing ERP solution.
“There’s a lot of things they’re doing to integrate everything into Business Central and the Microsoft ecosystem. You can integrate with Business Central so seamlessly,” he said.
Haber has worked as a consultant on NAV and Business Central for the past eight years. He has experience in the food and beverage industry, the nonprofit industry, construction and more.
When his former tech finance company dissolved his current Business Central consulting team, he found himself looking for a new job. He heard about the position at Boyer through a former coworker and applied for the job.
“It attracted me right away because it’s a growing ERP team. There’s a lot of potential where it’s going and where it is currently,” he said of the Boyer team.
As a senior Business Central consultant for Boyer, Haber will focus on complex integrations between CRM and ERP as well as Boyer’s in-house IP.
He’s excited to be able to work on both the CRM and ERP sides of the Microsoft solutions, especially with “connecting those different apps together,” he said.
Boyer clients in a for-profit industry will benefit from Haber’s experience in warehousing and inventory.
“My niche is advanced warehousing and inventory as well as job planning,” he said. “I can provide in-depth expertise on those.”
Haber lives in Seattle, Washington and is engaged to a woman named Shelby. He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, running, biking, tennis and pickleball.
Despite growing up in Florida, Haber never did get to Cape Canaveral to see a launch, but he still follows NASA launches online and enjoys seeing the images captured in space.
