As Boyer & Associates continues to grow, we are pleased to introduce our newest Microsoft Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central consultant. Benito Ramirez received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Carleton College and has six years of experience working with the Microsoft ERP.
His first job out of college was at a business his friend’s dad owned. The job consisted of writing accounting software geared specifically for the agriculture industry. When the owners retired, Ramirez landed a job as an associate consultant working with Dynamics NAV.
He went through training in 2016 to become familiar with the Microsoft ERP. When its cloud counterpart released, Ramirez started learning that as well. He is officially a Microsoft-certified Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant. He is also a Salesforce-certified consultant and is familiar with Microsoft’s Power BI software.
Most of his background consists of consulting and general IT/programming work. Ramirez said he enjoys the variety within consulting because it keeps him learning new things.
“ I just enjoy the process of learning and so I guess l like helping other people learn things,” Ramirez said. “(Consulting) gives me an opportunity to learn about a lot of different things.”
He chose Boyer in part because he wanted to work for a Minnesota-based partner. The chance to work for a growing company also appealed to him.
“It seemed like from the outside that the company was growing and doing well and that there would be opportunities to succeed here,” Ramirez said.
As a Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central consultant, Ramirez will be helping to run Boyer’s support desk and assisting with various ERP consulting projects.
“Throughout my career I’ve kind of been the person that if nobody else knows how to do it, they’ll give it to (me),” he said. That willingness to try something new has given him experience in multiple areas. He enjoys jumping in and helping with whatever is needed at the time.
“I’m just excited to really work on whatever projects come up,” he said.
Except for a year and a half where he worked on a project in Connecticut, Ramirez has always lived in Minnesota. He attended Minneapolis South High School and went to college in Northfield, less than an hour south of his childhood neighborhood.
When he’s not working, Ramirez prefers to chill in front of the TV at his Minneapolis home with his two cats, Otto and Pancake. He especially likes mysteries and science fiction shows “that make you think,” he said.
