The Boyer team is growing yet again. We recently hired Mohammed Alikhan as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant.
Alikhan graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Management Information Systems. While still in college, he landed an internship focused around Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions, specifically Dynamics NAV.
“I always knew I wanted to get into consulting, but no one tells you there’s so many different areas,” he said. “I didn’t even hear about ERP until (college).”
A quiet man by nature, Alikhan said consulting has helped him grow as an individual.
“Before I started consulting, I didn’t talk so much,” he said. “It gets you out of your shell a little bit.”
As a consultant, he especially likes getting to learn about the inner workings of multiple industries. For example, he got to see firsthand how the oil and gas industry works, from seismic surveying to piping to servicing.
“Just learning about businesses and different industries is what I enjoy a lot,” he said. “There’s so many layers of business.”
Throughout his career, he has helped with implementations in the industries of retail, hospital management, ecommerce and warehousing. The latter is perhaps what he knows best.
“Warehousing and ecommerce right now has been the biggest one where I learned a lot,” he said. He had three clients in the same industry all at once at his previous job. “I had to learn that on the fly,” he added.
When a job opened up at Boyer, the same person who had suggested he look into ERP consulting recommended Alikhan for the job. The company culture and focus on employee retention and growth made the decision easy for Alikhan.
Alikhan is already hopping into implementation calls and getting to meet his new coworkers and Boyer’s clients. He’s excited to see where the job takes him.
When he’s not focused on work, the Houston, Tx. resident enjoys boxing and basketball.
