Boyer & Associates recently hired Caleb Funderburk to round out our growing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consulting team.
Funderburk recently graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. Originally a supply chain management major, he realized that the positions that interested him most wanted technical skills he wasn’t learning so he switched to MIS.
He got his first look at Microsoft Dynamics through an internship at BDO Digital. There he had a chance to follow multiple projects.
“That was a really cool experience. I was able to see both the day-to-day consultant work but also some of the back-end project management work so I could see how both pieces tie together,” he said.
He enjoyed getting to see the inner workings of a client’s system to get a better feel for how various companies use the software. Seeing how different companies can implement the same software differently cemented his interest in the consulting world in general and the Business Central world more specifically.
“I really like how (Business Central is) more focused on small to midsized companies,” Funderburk said. “The projects tend to be a little bit shorter and more fast-paced.”
The fact that Boyer is established but also expanding its offerings intrigued him.
“I see a lot of opportunity to grow here. I can see the company continuing to grow and that will really allow me to establish my career and hopefully grow with the company as well,” he said.
In his new position, Funderburk is an associate consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
“I love it so far. Every single person I’ve met with is more than happy to help me,” he said. He’s soaking up all the knowledge he can get and looks forward to working with clients in multiple industries.
Funderburk lives in York, Pennsylvania. and is the oldest out of his siblings. He enjoys weightlifting, basketball and watching sports. He’s a diehard Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Lakers fan.
He also likes to collect sneakers. His long-time favorites are Air Jordans, and he currently has four pairs of Jordan 4s in different colors.
