The new partner designation replaces gold-certified competency
Boyer & Associates has officially earned Microsoft’s new partner designation. The Minneapolis-based software consulting company is now a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications. This includes Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, ERP and Power Platform solutions.
The Solutions Partner designation replaces Microsoft’s longstanding gold-certified partner status. Boyer was already a gold partner, a designation that signified a partner’s high competency in selling and supporting Microsoft software solutions. Historically, only 5 percent of Microsoft partners qualified to receive this gold-certified competency.
Microsoft started phasing out their gold (and silver) partner designations in October 2022. Boyer’s status as a legacy gold partner made the company eligible to apply for Microsoft Solutions Partner status. However, gold partners did not automatically get the new designation.
Microsoft’s designation of a company as a Solutions Partner signifies to customers that the partner meets the global company’s rigorous standards and will provide the highest quality of service. To receive a Solutions Partner designation — and the corresponding badge — Microsoft partners have to demonstrate continued competency in several areas.
Qualifications focus on a partner’s selling performance, skill of their consultants and the success of their customers. In general, requirements to be named a Solutions Partner include:
- Continually adding new customers and deploying new solutions
- Having consultants on staff who hold current Microsoft certifications
- Having healthy, growing customers who continue to use Microsoft solutions
There are six different Solutions Partner designations, depending on which software solutions the partner sells and supports. Boyer is a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications. The Business Applications set of software tools includes Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
Boyer & Associates started in 1994 selling and supporting Microsoft Dynamics SL, an on-premise Enterprise Resource Planning solution. The company continued to grow and expand its offerings to other Microsoft solutions over the years. Today Boyer remains focused on the Microsoft-only platform, but our supported solutions now include:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM solutions for sales, marketing and customer service
- Microsoft Dynamics ERP (on-premise and cloud) solutions for finance and operations
- Power Platform, an agile toolset designed to help small and mid-sized businesses connect, automate and report in real-time
