Once again Boyer & Associates is adding to our Power Platform/CRM consulting team. Please join us in welcoming Justin Pesso.
Pesso grew up watching his dad run a lifeguard company for local community pools and was fascinated with the day-to-day aspects of business management. “I looked up to my dad, and I decided I wanted to get into business as well,” he said.
He graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Finding a specific job with such a broad major proved a bit challenging after graduation, but he kept running across IT positions that intrigued him.
After acing a computer science test for a job interview, he landed a job as an application developer for an insurance company.
“It was a challenge, but I was able to pick up on it and … really just help end users pick up applications and start using them,” Pesso said. One of his biggest projects consisted of helping the company create a contact center to better serve their customers. Using his expertise, their client service reps soon had screen popups to better access key data while on a call.
Even in those early days, Pesso was already getting a look at Microsoft’s CRM capabilities since the contact center fed data into Microsoft Dynamics.
“It’s been kind of neat to see the evolution of Dynamics from when I started to now. It’s crazy to see how much Microsoft has rolled out, a lot of features to help users,” he said. Pesso is especially excited to dive into Microsoft’s latest AI capabilities with Copilot for Sales.
After six years, Pesso made the move from development to CRM consulting. He liked the idea of being able to work with multiple clients and come up with different solutions to similar problems.
“It really motivates me to be a consultant and help in those kind of success stories,” he said.
Pesso especially enjoyed helping one client move their very manual email marketing process to a more streamlined — and prettier — email automation system.
“Bringing that all to light for them was really cool, and they were super happy about all the results with that,” he said.
Pesso heard about Boyer from a former colleague, who had moved to the company. He did a little research and soon applied for a position.
After three weeks on the job, Pesso is already working on three Power Platform/CRM consulting projects and is enjoying getting to know his new coworkers.
“Here it’s a lot more closer knit. Everyone’s really willing to help. I’m having a great time so far at Boyer,” he said. He’s excited to learn more about the nonprofit industry and their industry-specific solutions within the Microsoft tech stack.
Pesso lives in northwest New Jersey with his fiancée, Britny and their 3-year-old American bulldog/pit bull mix, Frankie. Nearby mountains offer great hiking and a good way to wear out Frankie.
They’re only an hour from New York City one way and the Jersey shore another so they like to take trips to both the Big Apple and the beach. Pesso is also a big sports fan and loves watching the Yankees, Jets and Knicks play.
