Add a Three-Dimensional Chart in NAV
Last week's blog on Creating Advanced Charts in Dynamics NAV dealt with two-dimensional charts, but you can also add a third dimension. Select one Amount and one Dimension from the lower right as before. Then select another Dimension from the lower left-hand corner. There are a couple of options for recording vendor expenses in Dynamics 365 for Financials: (1) use Journals or (2) use Purchase Invoices along with Service Items. That said, I think only the Purchase Journal method makes sense. I'll clarify why below. Option 1 — Use Journals This is by far my preferred method because it's simpler and requires less initial setup.
