Microsoft releases updated year-end tax forms for Dynamics GP
With the end of the year inevitably comes the potential for changes to year-end tax forms for Dynamics GP. Microsoft has officially released a list of expected changes for this year.There are several changes to the 2021 year-end forms related to Accounts Payable. Specifically, changes have been released for the following forms:Payables 1099 NEC (3-part form), 1099-MISC and 1099-DIV (major changes to this last form)Payables 1096Payroll 1099-RPlus, luxury auto depreciation changes in Fixed Assets There are no changes to Payroll W2 and no changes to electronic filing for W2s. How to automate your nonprofit’s application process with nonprofit software
As Microsoft continues to expand on its Cloud for Nonprofit software solution, Boyer and Associates has been working with nonprofits to automate and simplify common nonprofit processes using the Power Platform. Our latest use case is automating application processes using Power Apps Portals and Dataverse to create a nonprofit client portal.Starting with an ungated portal, a constituent fills out an application for the nonprofit organization and submits it. Upon submission, a Flow emails the constituent with instructions on setting up a profile and credentials for a gated portal. Dynamics 365 multi-table lookups now available in preview
If you have been staying up-to-date on the latest and greatest with Dynamics 365 and Dataverse, one of the new features you might have noticed that is in preview is multi-table lookups. This feature was previously limited to the account and contact tables.There have been workarounds in the past such as enabling connections (yuck), creating a middle table or going as far as creating a lookup field for each table that you need to relate to your main record. You can just imagine what your form and views look like when you have one out of X number of lookups populated with the data. As a Microsoft partner and reseller for Microsoft Dynamics SL, Boyer & Associates has been using some form of web-based project timecard entry since the first release of Solomon Desktop — then BusinessPortal and more recently Dynamics SL WebApps.There were some frustrating times in the early years with WebApps for Dynamics SL 2011 and SL 2015.
