Annual conference is being rescheduled to early 2018
The Dynamics SL User Group (DSLUG) Fall Conference is being rescheduled due to the danger expected from Hurricane Irma. Planned for Sept. 12-15 in Tampa, Fla., the 10-year-anniversary event will instead take place early next year (exact date to be determined).
A notice on the DSLUG event website says, “Your safety and the safety of all who are affected by Hurricane Irma is our primary concern. Due to the deteriorating conditions in Tampa, next week’s DSLUG Conference in Tampa will be rescheduled.” Registrants received an email with the same information.
A mandatory evacuation order has already been issued for low-lying parts of Tampa, including the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel — where many guests planned to stay for the DSLUG conference. Those reservations have automatically been canceled, but guests staying at nearby hotels are being asked to call and cancel their reservations.
At least one of the event’s sponsors wasted no time in offering an alternative for attendees. California-based Catalina Technology will present an online session of its planned Deep Dive session on Sept. 12 at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
“Since many of you cleared your schedules during the week of the 12th for the conference, we are going to do our Deep Dive as planned (but Online),” explains the company’s website.
