Boyer’s Microsoft support team is growing with the addition of Daniel Champagne as a CRM/Power Platform Client Care consultant. Champagne has a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and four years of development/consulting experience.
As a young boy he loved getting his hands on the latest tech, from the first iPod with video to the newest release of his favorite NHL video game. Today it’s the latest capabilities within Microsoft Dynamics that catches his eye most often.
“Seeing the capabilities and the impacts across so many different industries that it has on the world has just always been very eye-opening for me. That I would say is the main reason that I decided to get into (the tech industry),” he said.
Champagne started as a developer, getting involved directly in coding applications and software development. While much of his work has been within the Microsoft tech stack, he’s also well-versed in other programming languages.
“Development really forces you — and allows you — to think critically about solving a problem. That’s one thing that I’ve also been a big fan of is problem solving,” he said.
His love for a good challenge fit the job description well, but as his elementary report cards so often pointed out, Champagne loves talking. A people person by nature, he wanted more customer interaction than a typical development position provided.
Before long, he found his niche within the client-facing side of consulting.
“Consulting allows me to talk to people and get to know them and establish those relationships,” he said.
Champagne spent the next four years honing his consulting skills at a Microsoft partner for business applications solutions. He has been embedded within the Microsoft tech stack, from his first laptop for school to his first job in the tech industry.
“I’ve become really familiar with it, and I know that the Microsoft tech stack addresses everything you need,” he said. The seamlessly integrated system of solutions appeals to him to help his clients increase productivity.
As a consultant, Champagne said he enjoys the opportunity to “help people achieve their goals.”
When he heard about the open Microsoft support team position at Boyer, the possibility to make a big impact on client success appealed to him.
“I like listening to people’s goals, what they’re trying to achieve and coming up with solutions … putting them into play and seeing how it impacts the customers, just making sure that they’re happy,” he said.
On the home side, Champagne resides in Vancouver, Canada. After a decade as shift leader at his local Red Robin, he loves cooking a diverse array of cuisine. He’s passionate about health and fitness and can often be seen at the gym.
Champagne said his family is his number one priority, and he talks several times a day with his older brother. The two share a special bond, including the same birthday — two years apart.
As a youth, he and his older brother played competitive hockey. Now they hit the puck around for fun, grab a coffee or, when the weather is nice, get together for a round of golf.
