Cloud accounting and BI reporting keep company in the top 100
For the ninth consecutive year, Boyer & Associates has been named one of the top VAR Stars by Bob Scott’s Insights. The prestigious award recognizes 100 mid-market Value-Added Resellers (VARS) of accounting software and is based on distinguishing factors such as growth, industry leadership and recognition and innovation.
“Bob Scott is selective and does the research to make sure he’s aware of the best VARs. We are delighted to be selected again. It’s an honor,” said owner Jack Boyer.
Boyer has long been recognized throughout the Midwest as a leading reseller of Microsoft accounting solutions Dynamics GP, SL and NAV. In 2017, the company added Microsoft’s new cloud-based product, Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, to its already-stellar repertoire.
Boyer believes the fast-developing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product will soon be positioned to compete against established cloud-based accounting products such as Intacct by Sage. By offering this new, up-and-coming solution, Boyer hopes to put his consulting firm at the forefront of the next big thing in the Microsoft accounting world.
“We are excited about Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition, not only getting a shorter name in the spring but also adding the functionality that NAV has,” Boyer said. “We believe that many prospective clients will decide we have the right solution once they see the elasticity of a basic product that can scale to near enterprise level.”
Also in 2017, Boyer started up a new practice area focused on Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. In recent years, the Boyer team has seen an increasing need for companies to be able to compile reports from multiple system sources and present information in real-time to decision-makers. The consulting firm now partners with both Jet Reports and Solver (BI360) to offer a variety of BI solutions designed to help their clients create better reports in a timely manner.
In addition to the VAR Stars, Boyer & Associates has consistently made the Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs list, which ranks mid-market VARs by their annual revenue. Bob Scott is a well-known name in the financial software community. He has covered the market for more than 25 years through both print and electronic publications.
