Today I am going to talk about how to change the default Report Type on reports in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Specifically, I have had some questions from customers wanting to know how to change the Report Type option default from Template to Standard when printing. Here is an example of the window:
The reason this window says Template is that Word Templates have been enabled for this report within GP. Sometimes a user may not want to print a Word template for a specific report and instead wants the Report Type to default to Standard.
To accomplish this, navigate to Reports > Template Configuration. In the Template Configuration Manager window, expand the Enable all templates for all companies drop-down menu. (Be careful not to unmark the checkbox in front of this option as that will disable all Word templates.) Expand the Company and then expand the module where the report is (for example, Sales). Scroll down to the report you want to change and uncheck the box next to that report name. For example, I unmarked the SOP Blank Invoice Form Template in the below screenshot:
This will change the Report Type default back to Standard. Users can still select Template as an option if needed.
